Dr. Hughes is a licensed Audiologist who returns to Alaska after practicing in her home State of Vermont. She specializes in diagnosing, evaluating and treating hearing disorders, as well as balance and dizziness, for both adults and children. She is trained to present a variety of treatment options to patients with hearing impairment including hearing aid dispensing, and works closely with our medical providers to ensure that medical/surgical treatment is available.
Dr. Hughes received her Bachelors degree at the University of Vermont, and Doctoral degree at West Virginia University. She completed her residency at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT. She is Board-Certified in Audiology, is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, holds the Certificate in Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a professional member of the Hearing Loss Association of America.
Dr. Hughes is dedicated to educating the community about hearing loss, balance, and their treatments. Her goal is to help patients make educated decisions about their healthcare and get back to the activities that they enjoy. She lives in Fairbanks with her partner and their dogs, Lucy and Nedd. She enjoys taking advantage of all that Alaska has to offer, including hiking, mountain biking, and skiing.
