You’re Invited to the Fairbanks at 50+ Art & Science of Aging Summit!

Join us for a transformative two-day event dedicated to celebrating the beauty and complexity of aging at the Fairbanks at 50+ Art & Science of Aging Summit. Kicking off with the Fairbanks North Star Borough Senior Recognition Day Luncheon on Thursday, May 8th, this inspiring summit will continue through Friday, May 9th. We invite you to be part of this important conversation and celebration as we explore aging, community health, and the resources available to support our seniors.

The Fairbanks at 50+ Summit was conceived around a big idea: nurturing our community health by enjoying and supporting one another as we age. This collaborative effort is a crucial part of the Community Health Improvement Plan for Senior Care (CHIP Sr) and aligns with our overarching goal of fostering an Age-Friendly Fairbanks. Throughout the event, we aim to enhance the well-being of our aging population by improving access to home and community-based services, providing caregiver support, and facilitating development for facility-based resources, such as assisted living. We believe that everyone, regardless of age or background, will find value in the engaging discussions and activities planned.

Mark your calendars for the exciting schedule we have planned. On Thursday, May 8th, the Luncheon will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM, exclusively for registered guests. The awards ceremony and meal will begin at 11 AM, with resource tables accessible during the entire duration. The arena will close at 1 PM to prepare for the next day. Then, on Friday, May 9th, we will open our doors to the public from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, featuring a resource fair, an AK Health Fair Screening event, and an array of engaging activities throughout the day. Keep an eye out for door prizes, as participating exhibitors are encouraged to contribute prizes for our generous guests!
